5-23-2012 Hymns to the Fallen

The War Film has been with us since the early days of silent cinema.  It is a genre filled with drama, spectacle, heroics, and patriotism.  It can be used for propaganda, or for protest.  Tribute, or tribunal. Through pain-staking authenticity, films like SCHINDLER’S LIST remind us of some of humanity’s darkest hours, while SAVING PRIVATE RYAN and BAND OF BROTHERS remind us of some of our finest.  Cinema Serenade celebrates Memorial Day by bringing you music for those who have fallen in the name of freedom.  May they never be forgotten.
