Music To Sharpen Your Sword To

The Swashbuckler has provided Hollywood with some of its greatest film scores. From the Academy Award-winning music of Erich Wolfgang Korngold for THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD, to Hans Zimmer and Klaus Badelt’s music for PIRATES OF THE CARABBEAN, these themes and flourishes are difficult to resist.  Take a listen to the best thing to come out of the financial disaster that was CUTTHROAT ISLAND, and pay homage to the escapist films of the 1930’s with CAPTAIN BLOOD.  Edward Shearmur’s music for THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO may have proven to be more than just an “inspiration” for Zimmer and Badelt, and it isn’t the only swashbuckler based upon a novel by Alexander Dumas to be adapted into a film; THREE MUSKETEERS, anyone?  Its the perfect music to sharpen a sword to!  Cinema Serenade celebrates Swashbucklers!
